3 Phenomenal People to Follow on Facebook

    October 13, 2011

How do you use Facebook to brand yourself and attract followers... who eventually buy from you?

Facebook can be confusing! Do you use it for your personal or business purposes? What if you are your business? How do you let others know about your products or services in a way that doesn't annoy them? And how do you post in a way that attracts more fans and doesn't make people run for the "hide posts" or de-friend button?

I have found three phenomenal people on Facebook who naturally attract and engage raving fans. They have an abundance of followers who adore them and are itching to buy whatever they are selling. :)

Here's the catch: they rarely sell in the obvious way.

So, without further ado, here is my list of three phenomenal people who uplift, inspire, and are rocking their social media personas:

    1. Katrina Mayer uses her page to uplift. I happened upon Katrina's profile mid-summer when I saw her posting something so uplifting that I read as many of her posts as I could. I would not be surprised if her brand "ONE word" is love.

She posts a "Good Night, Sweet Angels" regularly that I look forward to. Here's an example of one of her posts:

I have rarely seen her use her page to sell anything, but I have seen her followers sell for her. Here's an example:

She embodies the Give, Give, Get philosophy by posting hundreds of uplifting quotes, photos, and thoughts. Look how she asks her community to give back... and look at the outpouring of love she gets back! :)

    2. Jennifer Longmore shared with me at a recent retreat the secret to how she has made multiple six figures on her programs and retreats using Facebook as one of her vehicles.

"I post as a spiritual leader always. You will never see me posting anything that is not in that spirit."

Jennifer is what I call a "Thought & Transformation Leader". She posts thought-provoking updates like the following two updates:

Who doesn't want to follow someone who makes you really think? She also uses her platform to highlight friends and colleagues who she genuinely believes in. When she has a program or event, she sprinkles it in among other helpful and insightful thoughts so it's not overkill-selling.

    3. Peter Gabriel... ever heard of him? :) I love his inspirational posts!

Although most of his updates are behind-the-scenes videos, he (or one of his peeps) often take breathtaking photos of random things that inspire him.

Someone as famous as Peter obviously doesn't need to attract followers but rather engage them. And who doesn't want to see what inspires him from his window?

Who are your favorite people to follow and why? Give them a hearty shout-out below so we can check 'em out!
