    Quick Tips for Twitter

    March 11, 2009
  • Twitter is a relatively new social network started in 2006. It’s a micro-blogging tool where you post what you’re doing or what you’re working on in small bites. You post just a sentence or two and can include links to related resources. A lot of people use Twitter to post updates about what they had for breakfast or that they’re watching an awards show, generally useless comments. But as a small business owner you can use Twitter in a much more effect and dynamic way. To get the most out of your Twitter account, you need to post about your latest product development and launches, new partnerships you’ve developed, your latest hires or office upgrades, etc. As a website designer, I post about my latest launches and always include a link to my site. It’s an easy way to create links back to your site which makes your site look more relevant to Google search results. You can also use your mobile phone to post. I haven’t tried this yet but it looks convenient and fun. Don’t overlook Twitter! Give it a shot but make your posts informative and always include a link!
