    Eenie Meanie Miney Mo...

    April 29, 2009

    I hate pictures of me.

No, really.  I do.  So, I don't have any.

All of the pictures that you see of me in my profiles here, on other boards, on Facebook, Twitter, etc. are all pictures where I've cropped someone out of the picture (or, in the case of my STS picture, left the other person in).  Or I just use pictures of my kids.

The thing about that fact which is most shocking is that I always used to have headshots around.  I've spent a lot of my life in the theatre and have always had professional headshots.  But I don't do as much in the theatre as I used to.

Speaking of theatre... **SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT**

I am, now that I think of it, in a production of The Music Man which opens here in NYC on May 13th and runs until May 17th.  (I'm also in charge of the hair, makeup and I created all of the hats.)

If you're in town (or close enough to come in for the evening), you should definitely come.  It's going to be a great show (which would be my opinon even if I weren't in it, but of course, my being in it doesn't hurt... LOL!)  The link for tickets is right here

Please come if you can, I'd love to see you there.

    But I digress.

I went to the PR Booty Camps with STS's own Melissa Cassera and Inna Shamis.  They talked about PR opportunities and readying yourself for those opportunities.

I love going to these things, but a lot of the things simply don't apply to me.  So, when they said that you need to have a headshot, I mentally rolled my eyes.  (Anyone who knows me shouldn't have any problem imagining me doing this.)

So, imagine my chagrin when I found out that I was selected to be Woman of the Month for June for Women2Women Business Magazine.  Ok, well it wasn't chagrin for being selected, it arrived when Janet Arnwine (the owner) asked for a headshot and a shot of me working.

ARGH!  So, I did what I always do...

    I cropped.

    And I made a decision.

I decided that if I'm going to be serious about promoting myself, that I should listen to the advice of the professional people promoters.  I should get professional headshots done.

So, I called the photographer who took the wonderful pictures of my family that we had done last fall, Stephany Yantorn.  She's wonderful and reasonably priced and I highly recommend her.  She spent an hour or so doing pictures with me last Sunday and now I've got a bigger problem....

I don't know which one to pick.

I don't hate any of them.  I even like quite a few of them.

So, I need help from the STS community... Please help me pick my new headshot.  The look I'm going for is professional, yet friendly.  Competent, yet approachable.  You get the idea...

    And the finalists are:

(I'm sorry that they're all not the same size and the resolution is better in the originals, but they'd be too big to put in the blog if I didn't reduce them)

    Picture 1

    Picture 2

Picture 3 (no, it's not the same picture as #1, though I nearly made that mistake myself)

    Picture 4

    Picture 5

    Picture 6

I have my favorites.  What do you think???
