    The Shoemaker's Children

    January 29, 2009
  • I'm going to say that since the concept of the shoemaker's children having no shoes has been around for, well, forever, I'm not the first person to have the problem.  But I think it's time for me to "fess up".

As many of you know, I just finished my second ebook for my "Why the Heck Should I Do That?" ebook series.  I actually started blaming my husband/web designer (yes, they're the same person) for me not being able to put them online for sale yet.

    Still loving Smushy....

But it's not his fault.  It's mine.

Don't laugh.  (Ok, well, laugh if you want to...)

I need to file an S-Corporation (I don't want to sell the books as part of my law firm for liability reasons), file my trademark with the USPTO, draft the copy for the webpage, draft a privacy policy and a terms of service for the webpage before I can launch the website.

    Duh.

I don't know how I managed to forget about it.  That's not true.  I know how.  I was working

But I've cleared my backlog and I was going to get it all done (or at least as done as it can be) today.  No, really!

And instead of getting it done today, I'm taking the baby to the doctor.…Again!  I'm afraid that his cough has turned into bronchitis and I want to catch it before it's pneumonia.  But, if you ask me, taking care of my kids is FAR more important.

My baby... Sorry, can't help myself.

The world is just going to have to wait another day before they learn why (or why not) they should organize their company in Nevada or Delaware or file their trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

I definitely get an "A" in procrastination... Oh well, I guess I'll worry about it tomorrow... And that's how I end up with no shoes.
