Research On Occurrence Of Hair Loss

    December 10, 2014

Hair loss treatment attains it accolades more recently about a couple of decades ago but the full pledged study and research was dictated a decade ago. Men are the potential sufferers for baldness until 2010 and the woman hair loss restoration treatment also got its significance in last five years. But the proportion of men and women having treatment for hair loss is 85 % and 15 % respectively since many factors are under consideration in women hair loss pattern. Complete baldness or patches of baldness in the crown of head is said as men pattern hair loss (MPHL) which is the dominant form of hair loss in men which accounts 95 % men of total baldness. For any disease, researchers find an effective treatment for 100 % cure is possible only if they find the root cause of the disease. Generally hair loss is related to aging process as years move the follicle cells in the scalp lose its ability to stimulate the growth hair.

    Hairless gene in head

Men above 60 years get such baldness is acceptable and many men don’t consider it as an issue after 60 years. But the prevailing social issue is 40 % of men who are below 35 years are suffered by baldness. It has direct negative influence in personal and professional life. 30 % of men have respond in a survey that they are shy to go outside and thereby, they are unable to shift their job to other companies. The gene responsible for hair loss after 60 years will become active before 40s results in early onset of baldness. A new study made by researcher Angela M. Christiano, Ph.D., FACMG, Department of Dermatology and Genetics and Development at the University college of Physicians and surgeons in New York gives some hope to the process of hair loss treatment. They did an experiment to find how the hairless gene affects the hair growth and found that the hairless protein in gene reduces the level of histone methylation a hair growth enhancer results in hair loss. It is a new milestone in this research which helps in future studies and treatment.

    Recent research

Success of hair growth in mice by cloning of hair follicles cell in the laboratory has pinned some hope on researchers and hair loss sufferers. It hasn’t verified in human yet, but it is considered as one of the future technique that will help to restore the lost hair. Surgeons from vincihairclinic.ae said that current treatments in hair restoration involves removal of follicle cells from back of the head which has dense follicle cells to front head which is tedious process and the efficiency is low but highest among prevailing strategies. But by cloning of follicles give new group of follicle cells which help to cure complete baldness; however, the experiment on human is multi folds of tough when compared to experiment on mice. Surgeons are warning that young men below 20 years are coming for surgery for hair thinness. This practice should be avoided as it affects them in the future. To treat thin hairs new equipment namely, Therdome resembles like a helmet which is considered as alternative for laser treatment which has shown some promising outcome in hair growth. However, it got green signal from FDA for women alone and soon it will get accreditation for men. Causes help to find treatment so the scientists are shifted their focus to the cause of hair loss.
