This may be the fastest blog ever. It was a pretty busy weekend which is about to launch into the a pretty busy week. If Guiness is reading, please let me know if this is a world record. Quick updates...
-The Power of Twitter! Not only does Sarahcentric receive tons of comments and referrals from Twitter followers, it can also make for some great connections in the real world. This weekend, a Twitter friend in the know offered her personal help in selling an article I'm writing to a real-live magazine. Tweet, Tweet!
-GoodReads!! If you're a reader/writer and you don't know this social networking site get on it! This site allows you to set up "bookshelves", listing and reviewing all of the books you have read or are currently reading. GoodReads is an excellent fit for any writer out there looking to connect with readers with similar interests. It's also pretty fun. Friends have been pressuring me to join for a while, but I didn't think I could take one more social network! But I'm reading such an excellent book I was compelled to tell the world. Cut to me filling out yet another profile on the internet;-)
-Finally, COMMENTS!! It's important to have a profile on every social network the world has ever known. But I can't stress how important it is to simply read a lot of blogs and drop comments on their work. Comment on their work and they will comment on yours.
The best blogs are just active online communities. This is what separates blogs from all the other reading materials out there. Anything a blogger writes, no matter when they wrote it, should be the start of a great conversation. When someone does comment on one of your blog entries, be sure to respond to them directly on your own blog. Not only does it encourage readers to come back, it also allows you to elaborate on your latest entry's subject matter. That gives your blog the fresh and current vibe so crucial to making a blog successful.
