Getting pumped before my 5th half-marathon.
It's been tough this past week.
Remember the brilliant Sarahcentric production plan in my last blog? Well I got news for ya, it's absolutely exhausting. I still think it's the way to go; more frequent posting, hitting certain "release" times for the blog, etc. But the deeper I go into this re-launch, the higher the mountain to great writing success seems to be! The more I write, the more I write, the more I write! When I'm not writing, I'm THINKING about writing. And when I'm not thinking about writing, I'm thinking about blogging itself! The more items I check off the To Do List, the longer it seems to get.
There's definitely something to the "Get obsessesed, Stay obsessed" mindset to accomplishing goals. But that can be a real danger zone for me. I tend to make "the goal" so important that it eventually becomes totally unreal to me and absolutely no fun at all. "What the hell am I doing this for anyway?! Is this all in my mind?!"
So there must be some return to balance this week if I want to make it to the finish line. Sarahcentric is still open for business. I met with my graphic designer last night and found out he's pretty confident that he can have my new blog up and running by 12/1 at the latest. (YAY!) I made an interesting contact at Squarespace, a new blog software company that's doing some really exciting stuff. Since I loved their site so much, I shot off a quick email wondering if someone would be interested in meeting with me to talk all things Blogosphere. They were really receptive and I'll be meeting them at a cocktail party they're throwing in their Manhattan offices very soon. (Contacts!)
But while all of this is happening, regular Sarah everyday business must be scheduled in as well. I'm getting back to the gym with a new trainer tonight. I'm going to try and find 10 minutes in the morning to meditate before I head out the door. I'm visiting a friend in Florida for a long weekend. And most importantly, my couch and I are going to re-kindle our relationship over the new fall TV line-up starting this week.
Someone smart once asked, "How do you get there while being here?" I need to freaking find out!
