  • Feng Shui Gentle reminders as we continue into 2010

Encourage balance in your surroundings and increase harmony in your everyday life.

The quality of positive energy (Chi) in your home or office is the key to this balance.

Feng Shui requires “freshening up” every once in awhile especially if you feel a particular area of your life feels stagnant.

Pay attention to each area of your space and look at it with fresh eyes.

Visualize your space when you walked in the door for the first time ... there was no clutter or history just a fresh sense of being ... then as each day progressed the energy may have shifted and gotten heavier and heavier... Make a promise to yourself to get that positive energy back into your life and make this year your year to be healthy, wealthy & wise.

As we now know the BaGua map has a total of nine areas for us to follow and harmonize each area. The following is a helpful link for you to better understand the BaGua:

  • Excerpt from Feng Shuing Your Home by Maria Palma:
Blocked energy vibrations have a negative effect on our mental well- being. The foyer, hall, and staircase are the most susceptible places of being blocked. When your foyer is clear, it helps good Chi (energy) enter the home freely. Corridors and hallways move energy from room to room. Staircases should always be clutter free - not only for safety reasons, but the flow of Chi is smooth up and down to the living spaces.

When you feel like you need more space to breathe, it is most likely due to the images in your home disturbing your subconscious mind. Art can be beautiful and a joy to look at, but over time can be distracting and stagnant. Changing the surroundings from time to time is the best way to make you feel better.

It is important to clear table tops on a regular basis. When we come home we tend to throw our keys, mail, purse, etc. onto the closest table top and things accumulate quickly! Choose decorative objects to place o [...]

  • Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Mirrors as Key Feng Shui Cures:
Square and rectangular mirrors symbolize balance. Circular mirrors represent wholeness, oneness and unity. Octagonal mirrors denote power and represent the Feng Shui Octagon (Ba Gua). Larger mirrors create more powerful cures. Mirrors also symbolize self-image and clarity of mind, so they should not be distorted.
Mirror cures are used in the following ways:
    1. Add light and brightness, helping to lighten up darker areas.
    2. Attract new energy.
    3. Redirect the flow of Chi.
    4. Repel harmful or negative Chi.
    5. Magnifies and strengthens one's image.
    6. Expands an area creating more space and light.
    7. Empowers a Life Area of the Ba Gua(Octagon).
    8. Restores missing areas of a room or house(irregular shaped rooms, incomplete squares or rectangles).
The mirror should not be smoked or have flawed surfaces. Odd shapes are not good Feng Shui.

Mirrors have powerful energy so if you feel over stimulated consider removing the mirror in a particular space - you may want t [...]

  • Light Cures:
The energy of Lights such as natural, overhead lights, lamps, incandescent or other kinds of lights. They add warmth, cheer, comfort and brightness. If a bulb burns out the cure is nullified.

Faceted Crystal Spheres have many applications. The reason faceted crystals are so important is that they shift the energy of a space in several important ways.

    1. Added light, expansion and new energy.
    2. They redirect energies towards a more beneficial direction.
    3. Attract and draw energy to a location.
    4. Harmonize disruptive or confusing energy flows.
    5. By refracting and diffusing energy flows, protecting you from negative (poison) arrows of energy.
    6. Empowering your meditations and visualization. They are very beautiful, which is a very important component of Feng Shui.

I will continue to add cures each day ...
Questions and thoughts are most welcome.

  • Feng Shui & YOUR Creativity

    November 17, 2008

To attract the best feng shui energy for your creative area apply these basic feng shui tips:
This area is the middle of the right wall from your front door.
Have elements from nature (plants, natural light, rocks from the beach, although I would avoid shells - these are "dead" etc.)
Use strong blocks of color and movement (art, music, small fountain, etc.)
Display representation of your successful projects. (especiall your children's artwork for those who have children this is the perfect area for their art and your relationship with any children in your life)
Clearly organize all the tools you need. (not cluttered but organized - your laptop can be here also)
Create a clearly defined "no-rules" area. Make it as big or as small as your space allows and let it contain various items you deem necessary with no restrictions. The only rule, though, is to revise and clean this area at regular intervals that work for you - just don't let the energy get "stale"
As always questions and thoug [...]

  • Knowledge area:  As you walk through your front door it is your immediate left area.
Light: If you want to "shed some light on the subject" or get "a bright idea" or gain enlightenment, add the literal symbol for it here.
Symbols of mentors or wise people: I have seen people use some very cool wisdom symbols: Solomon from the Bible, Merlin, Albert Einstein, Mozart, Gandhi. Choose one that resonates with you and you'll get that wisdom corner working for you. Even a penny with wise old Lincoln on it can be considered your best one-cent investment for the future. Owls, dolphins are also considered perfect symbols for knowledge along with books of the subject you want to know more of.
Meditation items: If you do any meditation work, this part of your home or room can help hold that focus for you. Create a sacred space for quiet thoughts in your home and you won't believe how much more calm you will be.
Sharp knives and other metal: Having sharp kitchen tools helps you be "sharp as a tac [...]

  • Feng Shui Tip for Romance

    November 12, 2008
    Clean up your bedroom
When your bedroom is cluttered and untidy, the energy in there will be low and slow. Clutter is a sure sign that energy is stuck, so roll up your sleeves and clean the place up if you want to jump-start your love life. Ring a bell, or clap your hands loudly around the room to clear out old, stale energy.
NO family or friends pictures in your bedroom please - do you really want someone looking at your while sharing a romantic moment with your partner? Too many pillows - no room for your partner ...
Bedrooms: Rest, Relaxation and Romance ... no kids, no dogs, no family!
It is all about you and your partner ... yes it is.

    Bathrooms and your wealth.
    Okay everyone
It is challenging enough in today's economy to hang on to your money so lets take the first step in at least keeping what we have:
Is your wealth literally going down the drain or being flushed away? All you have to do to stop that from happening in the bathroom is to make sure the toilet lid is closed - yes CLOSE the lid.
When you leave the toilet lid up (hello guys) your money is being flushed away. It is also a good idea to keep the bathroom door closed if at all possible.
It is also a good idea to include a symbol of a frog in your wealth area (far let area from your front door) the frog should be facing in and not going out of the window or door.
Another suggestion is to keep a symbol of a frog in your wallet - the belief is "money that leaves will also return" - it can't hurt!
    Questions or thoughts are welcome.
