I grew up in Southern Illinois and spent most of my childhood on my grandparent's farm. Every spring my Papa and I would visit this pecan tree in the middle of one of his fields, to see the monarch butterflies as they migrated north. For whatever reason, they loved that tree and they filled it so much it looked like thousands of blooms. It was enchanting, and now one of my fondest memories. I have many fond memories of my childhood on my grandpa’s farm, but like everything, those memories start to fade over time.
