Kristin Fraser Cotte is the founder and CEO of The Grapeseed Company ~ botanical beauty from wine. The spark behind The Grapeseed Company began when Kristin returned to a landlubber's life after a two-year adventure sailing a 30-foot sloop from Boston to the Caribbean. Living off solar and wind power, Kristin and her husband gained a deeper respect for treading lightly on our planet. In her travels, Kristin studied the benefits of natural oils and plants being used by local islanders making soap. During the long ocean passages, she researched herbs, essential oils and the craft of making natural skin care products. After creating and testing formulas back on land in Santa Barbara, California, Kristin launched a line of skin care and spa products centered on a local, naturally potent ingredient winemakers discard after crushing grapes, the grape seed.
Since 2004 The Grapeseed Company has created premium vinotherapy skin care from the byproduct of wine and certified organic ingredients for professional and personal use. The Grapeseed Co. also produces a line for keeping your furry friends clean, green and sweet smelling, Dirty Dog Organics. The Grapeseed Company's innovative products have been featured in Health Magazine, The LA Times, Natural Solutions and many other global media outlets. In August 2010, The Grapeseed Co. opened their flagship store & self scent bar in downtown Santa Barbara.
Kristin is also co-founder of Personal Care Truth; http://www.personalcaretruth.com is a web portal for cosmetic and personal care information based on scientific evidence. Frustrated with junk claims and scare tactics being spread on the internet concerning personal care products and cosmetics, she teamed with another small business owner to create this amazing resource for consumers and industry peers alike.
