  • Unwind for the win!

    August 13, 2013

I've had a very productive week. That's a great thing being a recovering procrastinator ;-) Learning to manage myself has been a long road, but I love it now. However, there are times when you just need to let loose. Give the laptop and cell phone a break and chill.

Lazy Day was August 10th. I know, I apologize for not telling you sooneer that there's a day set aside for you to slak off with no GUILT! I'll do better next year.

I'd like to know though how do you unwind from entrepreneur extraordinaire? Picnic, long walk, good book or mommy and me time? I chose to window shop this week. It inspires me and motivates me to reach the next goal to make my desires a reality.

Share with me what your day of looks like.

  • Graduating Class

    May 2, 2012

It's approaching soon, yes, graduation. All of us either have a kid graduating this summer or know one or two who are. I've had the pleasure of having one do it twice. First from High School and then getting a degree as a medical assistant. She’s even going for a third, so brave and ambitious.

Shopping for a gift during this time can be impressionable. You want to give something that brings joy in the time of celebration but allows for independence.

This is a huge leap for anyone, to move from a school kid to an adult making life decisions. As I pondered these events I thought of how some made the same transition as as entrepreneur. We go from making moves under the direction of a boss to deciding for ourselves and eventually delegating task to our employees.

Taking the plunge is a gift to you that keeps on giving. Just as selecting that proper gift is for the graduate that can help them make empowering decisions. The same holds true for you when creating the best plan of a [...]

  • Gratitude is an attitude!

    March 22, 2012

    gratitude |ˈgratəˌt(y)oōd|

the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness : she expressed her gratitude to the committee for their support.

ORIGIN late Middle English : from Old French, or from medieval Latin gratitudo, from Latin gratus ‘pleasing, thankful.’

WOW! Readiness to SHOW appreciation for and to RETURN kindness. This is such a refreshing thing to share. Gratitude is not just the experience of thinking on what you have but what you’re willing to share. It’s like thanking God for the abundance in your life by bringing that abundance to another.

I see the technical definition describes gratitude as a noun, however, my definition let’s you know that gratitude is more than a feeling but a verb. That action is JOY in motion. Giving deletes the idea of lack. There’s no room for doubt, worry, or any other negative emotions when gratitude fills your heart.

Gratitude makes impossibility a fleeting moment that has [...]

  • Living the dream!!!

    April 2, 2011

It is a wonderful thing when you can do what you love! Gratitude does not always have to be expressed to those who have been amazing to you! Take a look at this random act of kindness displayed to an unsuspecting nurse at West Bloomfield (Michigan) Henry Ford Hospital.

Keep us in mind for your next love ambush!!

  • Being held back...

    March 12, 2011

Recently I put up a status on my personal Facebook page that read as follows: Eye opening thought... if the people I work with appear to be idiots and hold the same job title I do, it's time to step my career game up LOL #justathought

It came to me after hearing comments from some training instructors speaking about a co-worker in a negative light, who holds the same job title I do. Since I am spoken highly of concerning my know how and ingenuity at work I thought, wow, one of us is doing something wrong... and it's me.

Sometimes stagnant progression is not your boss's fault for not seeing your talent or value but your own for not pursuing the true path of your higher self.

If you've ever seen the picture of the rose growing from concrete you know that the dry soil (people) around you are not the reason your choking in life, but it's because you have or will not take the time to nurture (water & give sunlight) to the gifts and talents already within that will bring the life yo [...]

  • Hello,

I just had my premium member call with Bridget. It was amazing! I just wanted to say I feel so empowered after the call. It gave me a better understanding of what my upgraded membership affords me here on Savor. I now have better direction and a great boost of confidence.

I feel as if the strangers here at Savor want nothing but the best for me and to truly see me succeed. I am so glad I took advantage of the opportunity to upgrade and look forward to all the help, knowledge and love I will gain from the women here on Savor.

  • Hi Ladies,

Just wanted you to know I'm still savoring more of my success. My son (Corey Goines) entered the channel 7 (wxyz Detroit) "Mother of the year Contest" by writing an essay on why his mom is the best mom in the world. Well, he won out of 400 entries. The prize is dinner for 8 at Seldom Blues in downtown Detroit with a limousine ride to and from the restaurant. We will be interviewed at the restaurant on Monday May 4th at 4 p.m. (EST) and it will air at 5 p.m. (EST) Monday. We get to choose what day we want the prize and I hoping for Mother's Day since it is also my birthday (May 10th). It feels great to know how much your children appreciate all you do and sacrifice for them. Especially when it's in their own words and now will be displayed to the public.

    Here is the essay:

My mom is the best mom in the world because simply she puts up with me and her two other kids.  My mom is a single mom providing for three kids me her one son and her two daughters.  We struggle a [...]

  • I would just like to say to all the women I have connected with or exchanged messages with you are amazing. I am enjoying my membership here in ways I never thought possible. Your helpful insight and encouragement has been tremendous. Being a rookie to the entrepreneur scene was a little overwhelming at first. Now I see that if you have great people there to embrace the journey with you it is not so bad. I never thought I would be good at networking. I never knew where to look to get the information I needed until I found Savor. I have never traveled and now feel I have been around the world. I have met fascinating, fearless, funny, savvy, strong, smart, courageous, and even sassy women. I hope that you already know you are special, but just in case no one has said it in awhile I will. You are special to me! All of you will always hold a special place in my heart because you have helped me believe that my dreams can come true and pushed me to make sure it does. Thank you for allo [...]

  • Comfort Zone

    March 5, 2009

After posting my first blog on Savor I was elated. Since becoming a member I have done several things that I would have never thought to do. The most I was online for was to check my email and maybe research (besides the occasional video game). Now I have a FaceBook profile. I thought my kids would pass out when they found that out. LOL! I was clicking and chatting like I had been born to be online. After this I was chatting with friends instead of waiting for a email to be responded to. We just talked like we were on the phone. It was exciting. Like I had found a new side of me. Then came and WOW! I started connecting and the rest is history.

I got to thinking, when we say I stepped outside my comfort zone is that really true. If you do something and enjoy it wouldn't that mean you were comfortable? Then I asked myself is what I normally do really being outside my comfort zone?  Are we really in an uncomfortable zone on a daily basis until we tap into the G [...]

  • Mindset

    February 25, 2009

It has been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

That was sort of what I was doing. All talk and no show. I would talk about success, write plans, research sites that had information I could use, but only acting on a small part of the process. I talked a good game. You know, saying things like, " I can't keep going around this mountain like the children of Israel". "Why is it that I keep trying to get ahead and something keeps knocking me back down". One of my favorites was "Once I get my money straight I will be able to...These were not reasons they were excuses. Excuses that would allow me to keep being afraid to succeed.

My heart longed to write, and create great gifts, but I stayed stuck in the rut of mediocore. I don't even know why I was stuck. I get so excited when I accomplish something it would seem that I would run after the next goal. However I did not.

I asked a friend recently what she thoug [...]
