The Office Christmas Party (I'm in the blue dress). Don't ask.
As you can see in the picture above, these last days before Christmas have been a bit hectic. But I've finally found a chunk of time to celebrate with all of you.
I DID IT! I REACHED MY GOAL! I RE-LAUNCHED SARAHCENTRIC!!
I made an error two STS blogs ago when I said this goal had taken me 9 months. Hello?! I started blogging here in August! That means I re-designed my blog and tripled my readership in only 5 months! I'm really just blown away by how much has happened in such a short time. I wrote my very first Sarahcentric blog 10 months ago. But it wasn't until I began listing my goals and following up with all of you here at STS that anything really happend. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for your support and encouragement along the way. But let's hold off on the tearful goodbyes and look at my original goals.

My dear Savor the Success friends, the new Sarahcentric is officially here! The grand opening was a bit delayed, but today I am determined to make the most of this new site. Ladies, I need your help. I wouldn't ask you if I thought I could do it on my own. But then again, I suppose I wouldn't be a member of this very excellent group at all if I thought that, huh? Your support has meant so much over the past 9 months and this one last push for me would make all the difference. Here is what you can do.

Lots of hooting and hollering these days, both cranky and happy. But today it's definitely a happy hoot:-)
If you go to Sarahcentric, more likely than not you will see the brand new blog! YAY!!! (Ok, I'll stop yelling now). I finally straighted on out the whole DNS server/Domain Transfer mess I made. But still, it can take a few hours, days for everyone to see the new site. It has somethig to do with ISP stuff. All I know is that ALL of my friends and family could see the site yesterday, but my office computer wouldn't update...errr!
So head over to Sarahcentric right now. I'm holding off on the giveaway until Wednesday to make absolutely sure everything is working. But I posted a new entry with a small joke about my ride home from the amazing Savor the Success holiday party. Please, PLEASE comment so I can see if this sucker is working!
Once I know we're officially in business, the giveaway and mass promotion will begin!

Soooooooo, I pretty much have no idea when my new site will be up.
The story is boring and irritating I can hardly bear to tell it. But since this blog is all about learning from one another, I need to share my sad and sorry tale.
Basically, my developer guy and I planned on transferring the domain on Friday evening. We assume this would all happen within 24-48 hours so that we could test everything out for the weekend and have a bright and shiny new site for everyone to enjoy on Monday. HOWEVER, what we did not realize is that a domain transfer can take anywhere from 5-7 days to go through!!! AND because this transfer is currently pending, I can't get to my old domain to just chance the DNS servers. If I had done this in the first place, it would have taken only a few hours to go through. Errrrrr.
Here's the deal. You could go to Sarahcentric tomorrow and it may be all beautifu and new or old, blah and brown. We just don't know. In fact, it could have happened right.. [...]

End of the hike, Appalachian trail last summer
Holy s--t. I am freaking out. Seriously.
This is last day of the old Sarahcentric wordpress template, and the last quiet days before next week's big Sarahcentric re-launch. I feel crazy! I am second-guessing the entire design. I am petrified that no one will show up on Monday to enter the giveaway or even say hi. And honestly, I have no idea why I am even doing this! How did I get here?! I've done all the work trying to figure out how to build a quality, successful blog. But mostly, I'm running on instinct here. I just have a feeling, ya know?
Freaking out.

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!
The creative on the site is totally locked and done. (awesome.) All plugins and widgets have been added. (super) And all of the blog margins are where they are supposed to be. (thank you, GOD!) My tech guy Andrew has been so patient with all of my boring and detailed questions about domain mapping and other tech things. But it's all coming together beautifully.
The big official launch is Monday, but what Andrew kindly pointed out to me was that pointing the domain to the new site can take up to 48 hours. (Definitely keep this in mind if you're planning a big web promotion.) This was a surprise to me, but I think works out for the best. We're going to point everything after work tomorrow night. My favorite socks for laying around over Thanksgiving weekend.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back over here. I was swept away in the Thanksgiving madness! But I'm back in the city detoxing with oatmeal and water, ready to deliver to some kick-ass news.
It's official. Sarahcentric will re-launch on December 8th, 2008!!! Not only is December 8th, the date of the Savor the Success holiday party, it is also my Mom's birthday. This has to be good luck, yes? Yes? YESSS!!!
Here's where we're at ... my technical guy Andrew has transferred everything over to Chris Ammons' new design. Andrew is adding all of the plugins and widgets I need and will handle the transfer of entries. He's also taking care of my last minute notes which are minor, but will help make the overall design more cohesive and awesome. Once we're totally locked on my needs, both design and technical, we'll do the final transfer of all the entries from the old blog to the new. Once the new design is [...]

Remember my last STS entry with the tips and tricks of the blogging trade? Well, Patti Digh paid attention to none of that, and still produced a beautiful and ultimately successful blog.
Patti is the author of Life is a Verb; 37 Days to Wake-up, Be Mindful and Live Intentionally. Patti was inspired to write this "soul-help" book when her stepfather was diagnosed with cancer and sadly died 37 Days later. Patti has one of those awesome blogs to riches stories; a publisher found her blog and asked if she would be interested in turning it into a book.
